About ShopToolSpecs

ShopToolSpecs is a small independent site that helps homeowners and hobbyists choose backup generators, welders, and shop dust collection by comparing the numbers that matter.

How we compare products

Our comparisons are built from:

• Manufacturer specifications: product pages, spec sheets, and owner's manuals. We link the exact page each figure comes from.
• Public safety and government sources, such as the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
• Published reviews and owner feedback, when we use them, summarized in our own words and linked to the original. We do not copy star ratings or quote customer reviews.

What we add is the analysis: calculators, side-by-side spec tables, the math behind sizing, and plain-English explanations of trade-offs.

What we will not do

• Invent ratings, scores, test results, quotes, or "editor's picks" based on testing we did not do.
• Show prices. We don't show prices because they change daily.
• Let affiliate commissions decide what we recommend. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Corrections

Spec sheets change, and we make mistakes. If a figure on this site does not match the manufacturer's current page, please tell us via the Contact page and we will check and correct it.
